About 1700 Ocean
Until September 2004 Debra Savage was the designer and president
of Chad Allison Couture. Debra was one of the first designers
to reintroduce diamond pave` work in vintage inspired jewelry
designs. Often copied but never duplicated Debra’s attention
to detail and concepts plus her keen fashion eye put Chad Allison
Couture on the map.
Seeking more freedom and control of her work, Debra partnered
with Earl Allen and opened 1700 Ocean on November 1, 2004.
It is a unique place to shop at the beach. It is located in
the lobby of the Loew's Santa Beach Hotel.
As customers from around the world enter the store, the are
pleasantly surprised to find a very relaxed and different
kind of "hotel" jewelry store. As one customer
from New York said, "...I live in Manhattan, and we
don't have anything this cool and fun.."
It is the only store in Southern California where you can
see Debra's complete design collection, as well as other
chosen artists from around the world.
With over forty five years combined jewelry experience neither
Debra and Earl wanted to have a shop where "selling
shiny rocks" was not the highlight of the day. There
are 28,600 places where you can do that in America. "We
just choose to present our designs in a different light, that
is jewelry with heart and soul.
We are a part of and strongly believe in Fair Trade Gems.
That our products are brought to market in an ecological,
economical and humanitarian visible supply chain. That it
does matter that you give back and help people who maybe didn't
get to have the chances and opportunities that we have been
blessed with.
In the near future we will introduce our new collection called
Significant Jewels™, it truly will be jewelry with
heart and soul.
Until then please feel free to browse and shop. As our current
customers know we do many one of a kinds. Please email or
call us and we will email you photos of what is new,
cool and fun. Thanks for your continued support and business,
we appreciate so much.
Peace to you all!
